AQUA, one of the biggest brand of mineral water in Indonesia, made a commitment to make a huge impact on the war on plastic waste. Pioneering in Indonesia, the brand will be launching 100% rPET (recycled polyethylene terephthalate) bottle, which means that the bottle made without any virgin plastic. In further detail, the design of the new mineral water bottle has been officially revealed with a completely new label-free bottle made from 100% recycled plastic & 100% recyclable plastic.
The recycled bottle will start to be made available from February 2019 and the distribution to be expanded to other parts of Indonesia to create bigger impacts. It is hoped that this will trigger and encourage people to recycle more and to help people make recycling a lifelong habit.
The new bottle means to eliminate unnecessary packaging. It is designed to be safely reused, recycled or composted, as well as ensuring the material produced stays in the economy and never becomes waste or pollution. This move will help make the bottle 100% recyclable and reduce the amount of used plastic in each bottle.
Through this movement, the company shows its commitment to support pioneering technologies & social business programs to clean plastic waste from the environment, to make its entire package 100% reusable, recyclable and compostable products by 2025, while increasing the proportion of recycled plastic in the bottles from 11% to 50% by 2025.
