“I’m proud of Indonesian theatre; hopefully people will become more enthusiastic and support local works in theatre. I also hope more people from the younger generation will become involved in theatre, not only in television and movies, and that there will be an even bigger place and new media to accommodate local talents.” – Chelsea Islan, the Jakarta Post Interview, Friday, August 5, 2016.

Theatre is indeed a part of performance art, yet it follows a different aesthetic, and for Chelsea Islan, theatre is a mix of moving art and emotion, compelled to tell a story.

Art is universal. Art deems to cross borders and boundaries. Crospassing countries and limitless through all range of age and colours. The best art inspires wonder, and borderless art evokes emotion.
