Have you ever complain about people who complain?
Maybe you’re on a bus and it’s crowded. People are swaying back and forth, stepping on each others’ foot. A situation that already feels hot and uncomfortable is amplified with the unnecessary commentaries from other passengers’ verbal complaints.
But complaining isn’t what makes them negative. Their complaints rather could be seen (on the bright side) as critical thinking and awareness of their surroundings. So, the complaint itself is not necessarily a negative action.
It is what they do besides complaining that makes their action negative.
They constantly complaining, yet they do not try to find a solution, let alone perform the solution. They know there is a problem and it affects them significantly–mood drops, ruined makeup, aching foot, aching muscles. But they stop at complaints and does nothing further to solve the problem.
Every problem has a solution. We are never truly stuck in a situation. We always have an option (or options) to change the situation.
Simply put, so you dislike taking the crowded bus. Have you considered other public transportation? Or maybe the problem isn’t the bus, but the crowd itself? Maybe there is a certain public transport rule that can be applied to make the ride more enjoyable?
Questions like these will lead you to many options. But they’re still as pointless as complaints if you don’t make the choice that will solve the problem.
Right now is exactly the right time for you to step up from the complaining area. Yes, you may start with a complaint, but make sure that you also level up to a solution. Then, most importantly, to action.
A positive change starts from a simple action.
