Holiday guide on surviving the busiest time of the year. Wherever you're heading, if you're traveling during the holiday season, remember that everyone else in the world is, too. However, don’t let the long lines, traffic jam or humans get you down. Here are some tips for you to enjoy the most wonderful time of the year:
1. Plan a head.
Hope it’s not too late to say this and I pray that you plan way ahead before. But if not, then you have to plan alternative trips. If you are traveling by car and if the traffic is too crazy or overwhelming, try to find other place that is less traffic or make sure you’ll stop somewhere near every now and then.
2. Make sure you have entertainment on board.
Download some films on your Netflix mobile app or bring some book. If you are driving then have the best playlist on Spotify to play!
3. Pack light.
If you are flying then avoid checking bags altogether if you can. If you can, make sure everything is handy so you don’t have to wait for your luggage on the conveyor belt, and you won't have to worry about your mom's Christmas present getting lost in Airport. Here's a family packing list for more tips.
4. Don’t get hangry.
The main important thing is to always keep your stomach happy! When your tummy growls, your mind can't think straight, and you could unknowingly get in the wrong line, take the wrong turn, or worse, have an argument with someone. Have a meal before you leave, pack snacks and drinks.
5. Travel early or late in the day.
Flight statistics show that planes traveling earlier in the day have a better on-time performance. And if worst comes to worst your flight is cancelled, you will have the option of taking a flight later in the day. Also, there will be fewer lines at security. If you are doing a road trip, then best time to hit the road? When every one else is asleep — early morning or late at night. You can always take a nap when you arrive at your destination or on the ride there (if you aren’t the driver, of course).
