It doesn’t matter if you have one, two, three, or TEN children, being a parent is HARD. No matter what you do, your house will remain messy, the dishes will always be there, and your laundry pile will always be as high as the Mount Everest.
What if I tell you there are ways to make the struggles a little bit more bearable? If you can’t do the following for whatever reason, let’s be honest here, they’re just excuses.
COMFORT IS THE ENEMY TO PROGRESS – The Greatest Showman
1. Breathe
The moment you open your eyes, take a deep breath. Say your prayers, thank The Divine for giving you another day to live your life to the fullest. Get up and get pretty! Look good and feel good!
2. Meditate
Visualise the great day you will have today. The most successful people starts their day visualising success. Perhaps your goal today is to tackle that pile of laundry, so just imagine the basket empty before the night falls. Ok, that wasn’t the best example, but you get what I mean.
3. Exercise
Can’t stress this enough. Being a parent can be lonely and totally depressing. More often than not, it is exhausting. So, exercise, exercise, exercise! Exercising releases happy hormones and makes you feel hot. When you’re all that, it will help your relationship with your partner and children too. Don’t give an excuse for your obesity because you have 10 children... that’s lame.
4. Read
Nothing sharpens the mind like reading. Reading an article on Facebook is not exactly my definition of reading. Grab an actual book, smell it and submerge yourself in it. Ok, just like the excuses you make for not wanting to exercise; what excuse have you got for not wanting to read? Like, how long does it take to read just one page of a book?
5. Have Fun!
This one is very subjective. Do what you love. Maybe it’s spending quality time with your children. Maybe you like to watch a movie at the cinema. Find time doing it by yourself or include your loved ones to do it with. It’s up to you. The sky is the limit!
Well, New Year is just around the corner. That’s always a great reason to kick start a few new habits. If you haven’t already done any of the 5 tips above, start tomorrow. Habits take time to develop. If you do something every single day for 44 days, only then you will build a habit. Rome wasn’t built in a day.
