Everyone has different things they like. It might be not only one thing and occasionally change at different times. It can be singing, drawing, writing, sewing, cooking, and other more. Most people called them hobbies. Some others are not sure how to define them. The goal of doing what we like is to fill up our time and make us happy. Because being happy is super important in our lives.

Upgrade Skills and Abilities

Doing what we like easily leads to skill enhancement, practical, and social ability. Because the more we like something, the more we want to deep dive into it. For example, if you like cooking, you will start to cook your favorite food. Because you like to do it, you are willing to study cooking other dishes. Until finally, you understand culinary. Furthermore, you can even share your knowledge with other people.

This simple thing that departs from the activity that we like has automatically increased our skills and abilities. But we don’t have to be the best in doing that. It’s all about having a good time.

Bound Free

Doing what we like is different than doing our passion. It is true that passion includes things we like, even love. But it is more a strong inclination towards a self-defining activity, find important, and in which people invest time and energy on a regular basis. While doing what we like is not bound to time, place, target, and achievement. We don’t have to prove anything to anyone or set our goals. We are not tied to specific rules or requirements that we need to oblige.

The activities that we like to do should not stress us out. Instead, it must make us delighted and enjoy every single process. The interest plays its role in making the doing process is magnificent. When we lose interest in something, that’s alright, we can change to do something else or just break from it for a while, recharge our energy. Because when we feel satisfied relaxing we actually doing what we like.

Self Appreciation

Another good thing about doing what we like makes us appreciate ourselves. self-appreciation does not mean we become narcissistic and think we are the best, but it is very useful to increase self-confidence. When we do any activities, we are the ones who experience the journey. And we are the person who knows the process behind the result, even when we haven’t got any result yet.

And when we like the specific activity it adds more value because we are putting the thoughts along with our heart in it start from the beginning. We will understand that we have the ability to do something with great pleasure and happiness. Regardless of how the benefits we are able to provide to others, but believing in ourselves that we are capable and we value the effort and process is very important to ourselves.
